JOTUN JOTATEMP 250

Jotun Jotatemp 250 is a two component glass flake reinforced epoxy composite coating. It is heat resistant up to 250 °C (482 °F) and can be applied on hot substrates up to 150 °C (300 °F). It can be used as primer, mid coat or finish coat in atmospheric environments and is suitable for properly prepared carbon steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel and aluminium substrates. Jotun Jotatemp 250 provides anti-corrosive protection at continuous temperatures up to 250˚, providing optimal cost efficiency for customers operating within this threshold. It’s Suitable for temperatures ranging from cryogenic, i.e. -196 °C to 250 °C (-321 °F to 482 °F), insulated and non-insulated surfaces.

Jotun high temperature coatings

Jotun uses high temperature coatings that require long term corrosion protection to protect high temperature surfaces from damage that may naturally corrode. It is suitable for both (insulated and non-insulated) surfaces. Jotun high temperature coatings, Epoxy HR, are temperature resistant up to 205 degree C and can be applied in not one, not two but three ways (a primer, mid coat or finish coat). Gravity Chemicals & Specialties has a wide range of temperature coating products including, you can choose the one that suits you.

High temperature paint has a caveat that any paint that performs at high temperatures, usually up to 400 degrees, can be called a high temperature paint, but applying the same paint to a pipe that gets up to 1000 degrees will not give you the best performance. Paint contains inorganic materials such as ceramic and silicon, which can cause overheating. The presence of inorganic materials in them is the reason for their resistance to more extreme temperatures.

There are paints that are self-priming, and that being said, high temperature stove paints are self-priming that do not require additional primer for most indoor applications. For that reason, high temperature paints does not require a primer. However, in rare cases (outdoor use, very humid climates, it may be necessary to apply a high temperature primer before painting. There are many different types of high temperature coatings available in the market today.
